June/July Newsletter

3rd July 2012

Dear All,
Had a fabulous time salmon fishing in May.  The River Thurso was as
beautiful as ever and we saw lots of wonderful wildlife including Red
deer, a Marsh Harrier, and Wheatears.  Two delightful grey wagtails
were making love in the Spring sunshine opposite where I was fishing.
Yes, after the hailstorms and snow showers, in mid May if you please,
we did get a couple of sunny days (not so good for fishing).

*Breaking news*
Exciting news received this week!  I am going to Chengdu, China - as
one of only two artists from the Sheffield region invited to visit and
work there through CreativeSheffield.  They are twinned with Chengdo.
Two pieces of work will be exhibited at the Painting Exhibition
scheduled from 11-14 September at the Pride International Conference
Center along with 2012 China International Friendship Cities Conference
(CIFCC).  They will then be on show at the International Museum at
Tianfu Square in Chengdu. So excited!!

Over the next 6 months:
- as part of the Gallery Town project (http://www.gallerytown.org.uk/)
Rotherham Town Centre,  2 of my digital collages are on show in a
window of the Old Town Hall Precinct (opposite Argos).  Also watch out
for guided art walks, drop in sessions in the Imperial Buildings and
lots of arty happenings around the town centre.
